If X happens

When something breaks, you need answers fast.

Every item in your vault has an emergency section. Policy number, who to call, what to do first. It is there when you need it, not buried in an email from 2019.

  • Boiler breaks at 11pm? Gas Safe number and policy details in one tap.
  • Car written off? Insurer, policy number and claim steps ready to go.
  • Leak under the sink? Policy, excess and emergency plumber number on hand.

315 templates. Nobody starts on a blank page.

The worst part of any organiser app is the setting up. Roost skips it. 111 vault templates, 66 tasks, 63 routines, 39 notes and 36 lists, each arriving with the right fields already in place. “Boiler” is not an empty form. It arrives knowing it needs a Gas Safe number, a service date, and who to ring when it stops.

The stuff you only remember when it is too late.

Set a routine once. Roost tells you when it is due, flags it when it is overdue, and lets anyone in your household tick it off.

  • Boiler service. Car MOT. Dentist. Smoke alarm batteries.
  • Overdue items are front and centre the moment you open the app.
  • Log a past date if you already did it, so your history stays accurate.
  • Share routines so your partner knows what needs doing too.

The household app built for two.

Most household apps make the second person a junior: view-only, or paywalled. Roost does not. Invite your partner free, and they see and edit everything you share, syncing in about a second. The activity feed keeps you both in the loop without anyone reporting in: “Corinne ticked off milk.”

Common questions about Roost

What is Roost?
Roost is a UK-built household app for couples and families. It stores your insurance details, renewal dates, emergency contacts, shared lists, and home maintenance routines in one place. Free to start, available on iOS and web. Roost at getroost.io is unrelated to getroost.com, which is a US smart-home insurance product.
What does the home admin vault store?
The vault stores important home details by category: home insurance, vehicles, subscriptions, documents, and health. Each item holds the key details for that category: policy number, renewal date, provider, and an emergency number, so you can find them when you need them without searching through old emails.
Can I share the household app with a partner or housemate?
Yes. Roost is designed for household sharing. Both people in the household see the same vault, the same lists, and the same renewal reminders. There is no owner or admin, and both people have equal access. Inviting and viewing are free on all plans.
How do the renewal reminders work?
When you add a renewal date to a vault item, whether that is car insurance, an MOT or a broadband contract, Roost sends a push reminder 30, 14, 7 and 1 day before, and surfaces it on your home screen. The renewals screen also shows a running monthly total. Reminders live inside the vault item, so the details and the reminder stay together.
Is Roost free?
Yes. The free plan includes all five sections, Vault, Tasks, Lists, Notes and Routines, plus household sharing, with up to ten items per section. Pro is £5.99 per month or £49.99 per year and removes item limits across all sections.
What platforms does Roost support?
Roost is available as an iPhone app (iOS) and as a web app at app.getroost.io, on the same account with real-time sync. The web app works in any browser, including on Android. Mac and Windows are planned.
